Seargent John Basilone shipping out again to go where the enemy is after the fight in Pearl Harbor he is now going elsewhere in the Pacific. Sidney Phillips goes to boot camp without his friend Eugene Sledge who has a heart murmur and newbie Robert Leckie, enlists in the Marine Corps After almost a year, they have completed boot camp and was sent to secure an airport in Guadalcanal to help defend it from counterattack.
