We planned to watch Watchmen last night but we ended up watching Race to Witch Mountain. Nothing about the movie changed our mind. It’s just that the screening of Watchmen is much later than Race to Witch Mountain. So, rather than waiting an hour to watch the comics adaptation, we decided to see if we ‘Can smell what The Rock is Cooking’.
Anyway, enough about that, now about the movie, It’s about 2 siblings from another planet who crash landed to Earth in order to get their parents experiments done on Earth in effort to save their depleting planet. It’s a good movie, considering the fact that it’s from Disney, you’ll get what you would expect from a family oriented kid-friendly movie with clean funny lines, simple fights scenes & no bloody killing gunshot. I’m just disappointed of some of the special effects; especially the seen near the climax of the movie where they were being gun fired by all the soldiers around them and they hold hands and shielded/deflected the bullets. You’d expect to see better considering the movies you see nowadays. Aside from that the story line was great and the pace of the movie is moderately done considering the situations.
We should expect to see more of this from Dwayne Johnson for he is really keen on dropping ‘The Rock’ image he got from wrestling & will be concentrating more on doing supporting roles in more family oriented movies where he gets much of his success from.
He’d be doing an animated film ‘Planet 51’, another kid-friendly comedy ‘Tooth Fairy’ due to out this year and he’s hosting Nickelodeon’s “Kid’s Choice Awards” at the end of this month.
