Basilone is so frustrated with his role as the campaigner of war bonds that he requested the Marines to make him the trainer of the troops before they head to combat. As he transferred in Camp Pendleton, he met a young female marine and got involved in a whirlwind romance with her. Though they both know that this will soon end because Basilone is to take part in the Iwo Jima landing.
The latest episode of The Pacific is the mini series' 8th part that aired last 05/02/2010 Sunday at 9:00 PM on HBO.
